The Starrett depth gauge base is available in a 4", 6", or 8" length and has one to three collet mounting hole locations for use with Starrett 648 series depth gauges. The supplied mounting collet holds a depth gauge (sold separately) securely. The base is 3/4" wide and has tapped mounting holes to fit 3/8" (9.5mm) gauge stem diameters. It is made of hardened steel for durability and accurate measurements, and is suitable for precise measurement in a variety of manufacturing, machining, and mechanical engineering applications.Depth gauges are precision measuring instruments used to determine the depth of any shape that has a step, groove, or slot.
