A 3M best-in-class tool designed to optimize the performance of 3M™ Abrasives, this sander features a 1/8" orbit diameter ideal for flat surface finishing and sealer sanding, and a rectangular 2-3/4 x 7-3/4 inch (70 x 198 mm) pad that enables access to the corners of a workpiece. It is an excellent choice for sanding and surface preparation on wood, metal, fiberglass and composite materials, and many other substrates. Built with a powerful, precision-balanced 0.28 hp motor and durable lightweight aluminum housing, this ergonomically designed workhorse stands up to industrial production and reduces user fatigue for hours of comfortable operation.High Performance, Superior ErgonomicsDesigned with the operator in mind, 3M™ Elite Series Random Orbital Sanders are loaded with ergonomic features that decrease work strain and improve productivity.Wrist and hand support:Extended curved wrist rest reduces stress on hand and wrist and provides additional leverage. Recessed lever platform eliminates pinch and pressure points on the operator’s palm. Three grip sizes enable operator preference. Offering convenience and versatility, the Hookit system enables easy grade changes using 3M Hookit Sheets in a range of grades (Hookit sheets sold separately).Using Your Pneumatic SanderThis tool is intended to be operated as a handheld tool and is air-powered. It requires an air compressor that will provide a clean lubricated air supply with an airflow rate of 17 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM), or 481 liters per minute (LPM), and 90 pounds per square inch (psi) at the tool, i.e. the point where the air hose is connected to the tool, when the tool is running with the level fully depressed. Recommended is an approved 3/8 inch (10 mm) airline at the minimum length required for the application, with a maximum length of 25 feet (8 m).
