Product DescriptionThe 3M Hookit Low Profile Finishing Disc Pad is a soft density backup pad in 5 or 6-inch diameters for 5- and 6-inch abrasive discs. The soft density foam provides additional conformability and is ideal for final surface finishing applications following leveling and blending process steps.From the ManufacturerThe 3M™ Hookit™ Low Profile Finishing Disc Pad 77855 is 5" in diameter and constructed of 11/16" soft density foam with a 15 degree blunt tapered edge and is recommended for finishing applications on flat or contoured surfaces where dust evacuation is preferred. Use this disc pad with a 5" Hookit™ disc (sold separately). The soft density foam provides additional conformability and allows the disc to flex for longer abrasive life in loading applications. The disc pad has 5/16-24 external threads compatible with an orbital or random orbital sander. Max OPM and RPM is 12,000.For dust extraction, use this disc pad with a Hookit D/F disc and a random orbital sander with vacuum (both sold separately).The Hookit hook-and-loop feature makes disc attachment, removal, and re-attachment easy and facilitates use and re-use of the disc for the extent of the abrasive life. Hookit disc pads have J-shaped hooks of the type most commonly used in everyday hook-and-loop applications. Hookit disc pads grip the brushed nylon loop backings of 3M Hookit discs and provide a finer finish than do adhesive backed discs. The Hookit system is designed for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris.
