The helmet comes ready to use with a lens offering three sensitivity settings: 1) Normal for most types of welding both indoors and outdoors, 2) A setting for when other welders are working nearby, and 3) A setting for low-current or stable arc welding.Auto Darkening Filter Reacts Quickly After Striking an ArcThe Speedglas 100V lens also features five user-selectable dark shades, from shade 8 through shade 12, and a light shade of 3. The auto darkening filter quickly darkens after striking an arc to maintain optimal viewing. The auto darkening filter also reduces the need to flip the viewing lid, which can be stressful on the neck and a distraction while welding. The viewing area provides a field of view that allows the welder to see the work in progress with minimal obstruction. This welding helmet comes in a classic black color. Recommended welding applications include metal fabrication, assembly, mechanical and metal repair. One Helmet Works for Three Types of WeldingThis fully assembled welding helmet with ADF (Auto Darkening Filter) offers sensitivity adjustments for use with most Stick (arc welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding applications. The welding helmet uses an auto darkening filter that can be adjusted for different shades based on the welding amperage. The viewing area measures 1.73 inches high x 3.66 inches wide and has excellent optical quality.Versatile Eye and Face Protection for WeldersWelding helmets help protect the eyes and face in numerous ways. For starters, the helmet blocks welding sparks and spatter from reaching the eyes and face. The helmet also protects the eyes from exceptionally bright light and rapid changes in brightness, which can both stress and harm eyes. Without protection, eyes can be temporarily or permanently injured by the intensity of light produced by welding. Eyes also have difficulty adjusting to rapid brightness changes while welding in dark locations, which can be both a productivity and safety issue.About 3M CompanyFor more than a century, 3M has applied innovation and technology to improving our c
