ThorTec, premier reinforced detectable tape for the Last Line of Defense against 3rd party damage, also provides the ability to locate either inductively or conductively. Patented reinforcing weave provides high tensile strength needed for plowed-in installations. Multi-layer construction offers permanence of message, strength and floatability. Shallow buried 6 to 12-Inch below finished grade, ThorTec can be located reliably with even the least sophisticated metal detectors. Wide-width detectable tape can be located up to 3-feet deep with proper detection equipment. Middle foil layer allows for both inductive and conductive locating. No ink extends to the edge of the tape providing the strongest bond between layers to prevent delamination. Bold black letters include message and installation recommendations. Designed as a 3-layer sandwich with a layer of aluminum foil encased between two layers of plastic. Bottom layer is 100 percent virgin, warp oriented, ultra-high molecular weight, coated and close cross-woven reinforced polyethylene. Ink-free outer edge prevents delamination. Acid and alkali resistant nature prevents degradation. Tape identifies, locates and protects utility lines. Buried print style enhances long term identification. Tape is supplied in accordance with the American Public Works Association National Color Code.
