The LA-CO Plasto-Joint Stik pipe thread sealant seals and lubricates threads on plastic pipes used in pools and spas. The sealant can be used on ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), or CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) pipe. It can be used in systems for water, natural gas, steam, air, diluted alkalis, brine, alcohol, diesel, biodiesel, and ethanol. When applied as recommended, the compound seals pipe thread connections up to 500 psi for liquids and up to 300 psi for gases. The sealant withstands temperatures up to 250 degrees F (121 degrees C). The sealant meets Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) standards for pipe thread sealant.Pipe thread sealants are used in pipe connections to help prevent liquid and gas leaks. The sealant compound is applied to pipe threads, typically with a brush, prior to assembly to fill gaps between the threads for a tight seal.
