Product DescriptionThe Master Lock group lock box for lockout/tagout is a powder-coated steel box lockable by up to 14 safety padlocks or hasps, with clips on its back wall to keep up to 12 keys organized, capacity for hundreds of loose keys, and a slot at the top of its front wall for adding loose keys when the box is locked shut. It has four holes in its back wall for use as a wall-mounted station, but also has a stainless steel handle for portability (mounting hardware sold separately). The front of the box reads, "Lock Box Lock out for Safety" in English, French, and Spanish. This box is part of a lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedure required at facilities where devices and energy sources need multiple-person authorization to be accessed safely during maintenance and repair. The box measures 12-3/4 x 6-3/8 x 3-1/2 (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) The key slot measures 0.15 x 1.25 inches/3.8 x 31.8 mm (H x W). When used according to manufacturer's recommendations, this product is covered by a limited lifetime warranty against defects in workmanship or materials.Lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety procedures require that lockout devices meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 1910.147(c)(5) standards for quality assurance. LOTO devices use color, warning labels or tags, and sometimes a physical barrier to help prevent machine operation or power activation during maintenance and repair. Group lock boxes can provide the ability to use fewer padlocks on lockout devices that need to provide multiple-person authorization. Placing a single padlock's key into a group lock box with multiple locks on it allows for the single padlock to serve as a multiple-person authorization device. Repeating this process throughout a facility can simplify safety procedures, save time, and reduce the total number of padlocks maintained at that facility.Master Lock manufactures padlocks, combination locks, and related security products.
